Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge is inviting food
and wine lovers to not only sample local produce at the source,
but to soak up the local knowledge as well at ‘The Winemaker, The
Local Grower and You’ gourmet event on 13 September 2013.
Hosted by the expert winemakers from pre-eminent
Tasmanian winery Josef Chromy Wines and matched to fine local
cuisine prepared by the Highland Restaurant team led by Chef Jee
Whan Lee, the event promises a celebration of the finest Tasmanian
gourmet faire whilst being immersed in the pristine wilderness of
the World Heritage listed Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National
Park.
“Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge has forged some
great relationships with the diverse array of food and wine
producers in the region and we are looking forward to showcasing
Josef Chromy wines with the excellent food that our Highland team
creates,” said Leigh Reid, General Manager Peppers Cradle Mountain
Lodge.
The event is part of the Peppers Gourmet Food
Trail program – a feast of events, packages and offerings that
celebrate regional food and wine at over 20 Peppers retreats and
resorts across Australia’s east coast and in New Zealand.
An event package is on offer which includes the
five-course dinner with matched Josef Chromy wines; one night’s
accommodation in a Pencil Pine Cabin; welcome chocolate plate and
breakfast for two people from $499 per couple.
Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge is set at the
entrance to the World Heritage listed Cradle
Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park and is just over an hour’s
drive from Devonport or two hours from Launceston. The retreat is
one of Australia’s most iconic wilderness experiences.
