Korean Air has signed a partnership and
codeshare memorandum of understanding with Myanmar Airways
International (MAI).
The official signing took place on 8 April
at Korean Airs headquarters and present at the signing ceremony
were the President and COO of Korean Air, Chang Hoon Chi and the
Managing Director of MAI, Si Thu.
Established in 1992, Myanmar Airways
International operates seven international routes.
The MOU will enable both airlines to promote
bilateral cooperation in all areas including passenger traffic,
safety, inflight services, flight operations and maintenance.
Under the agreement, MAI will place its 8M
code on Korean Airs daily flight between Seoul and Yangon. Korean
Air plans to expand the codeshare agreement on flights operated by
MAI.
