Emirates has unveiled new expansion plans for
Eastern Europe, starting with the launch of a daily Dubai-Kiev
service on 16 January 2014, in what will be the airline's first
route to the Ukraine.
Operated by an Airbus A340-500, the new flight
will depart Dubai at 17:15 and touch down in Kiev at 20:35.
The
return flight will leave Kiev at 22:10 to arrive back in Dubai at
04:55 the following day.
The Airbus A340-500 will offer 12 private suites
in First Class, 42 Business Class seats and 204 Economy Class
seats.
"We see strong potential in the Ukraine through
its agribusiness, heavy machinery industries, technology, and
tourism. Kiev will be our 35th passenger route in Europe and
Emirates' customers in the Ukraine will be able to fly non-stop to
our Dubai hub and conveniently connect onwards to Asia," said
Hubert Frach, Emirates' Divisional Senior Vice President
Commercial Operations West.
Ahead of the launch of the new Dubai-Kiev route,
Emirates will is set to introduce a Stockholm service on 4
September 2013 and a trans-Atlantic service from Milan to New York
on 1 October 2013.
