ACI Names Winners of Annual Airport Service Quality Awards

ACI has unveiled the winners of its annual Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards 2012.

In the Best Airport by Region category, the Best Airport in the Asia Pacific region is Seoul Incheon Airport, followed by Singapore Changi Airport, Beijing International Airport, New Delhi International Airport and Hong Kong International Airport.

In the Best Airport by Size category, the highest ranked airports in the 5 airport sizes are all from the Asia Pacific region, they are: Hohhot Baita International Airport, Chubu Centrair International Airport, Nagoya, Seoul Gimpo International Airport, Seoul Incheon Airport and Singapore Changi Airport.

Commenting on the results, ACI Asia Pacific Regional Director, Mrs. Patti Chau, said, “I wish to extend my congratulations to all the Asia Pacific airports in the ASQ Awards 2012. I am delighted to see that Seoul Incheon Airport is once again the top performer in our region. I am particularly thrilled to see that out of the entire top performing airports under the Best Airport by Size category, over 80% are from the Asia-Pacific region. This is a well-deserved recognition to airports in our region who are continuously striving for and committed in delivering excellent customer service.”

ASQ Awards are presented in four categories that include: Best Airport by Region, Best Airport by Region (fewer than 2 million passengers per year), Best Airport by Size, and Best Improvement.

At the 2012 World Annual General Assembly in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, ACI said that it would discontinue the Best Airport Worldwide award category to focus more attention on categories that facilitate comparison, particularly airport size and region.
