The Cornell School of Hotel Administration (SHA)
is again collaborating with Sabre Hospitality Solutions to present
the "Hospitality Marketing with Evolving Media: Social, Mobile,
and Search" course, which is being offered during the 2013 spring
semester.
The course is open to undergraduate and graduate
students at Cornell.
The course, which launched last year, introduces
students to the latest developments in digital marketing media for
the hospitality industry, focusing on social media, mobile media,
and search-engine marketing.
Students learn the theories of
network-based, integrated marketing communication and the
practical application of strategies, tactics, and technologies
used in this fast-evolving field.
Bill Carroll, senior lecturer in
services marketing, and Felix Laboy, president and general manager
of Sabre Hospitality Solutions and a 1986 SHA graduate, will
facilitate the course. Several Sabre executives will be
co-instructors.
"The world of marketing is changing, and
our students must be able to navigate that world if they are going
to be successful in the industry," said Steve Carvell, associate
dean for academic affairs, SHA. "We are delighted that Sabre is sponsoring this course for a second year and helping provide our
students with a competitive advantage."
Felix Laboy added, "Students at the Cornell
School of Hotel Administration are the future leaders of the
hospitality industry. We are excited to work with them to hone
their marketing management skills and give them practical insights
into the way technology is changing the way we reach hospitality
customers."
