Impact Muang Thong Thani has reported a 38%
increase in both Thai and international concerts.
There are a
total of 51 concerts being held in the 2012 fiscal year,
generating an expected 120 million baht in revenue.
The company
said it also sees a growing trend in small-sized concerts. To meet this
rising demand, Exhibition Halls 1-4 are undergoing renovation with
the addition of light and sound systems of the same standard as
Impact Arena.
Mr. Loy Joon How, General Manager of Impact
Exhibition Management said, “We see
a growing number of Impact-held entertainment events and concerts.
For the 2012 fiscal year (April 2012 – March 2013), there are a
total of 51 events scheduled at Impact, including 32 Thai concerts
and 19 international concerts (7 Asian and 12 American). That is a
38% increase compared to 37 events, 19 Thai concerts and 18
international concerts (14 Asian and 4 European/American), held in
the 2011 fiscal year (April 2011- March 2012).”
Impact
Arena is the most popular venue option among organizers, followed
by Thunder Dome and Exhibition Hall 1-4, which are now drawing
more interest from organizers as they offer sufficient space for
small-sized concerts. Other venue options are Impact Lakeside and
AKTIV Square for outdoor events and activities.
“The trend
of small-sized concerts is gaining huge popularity because
organizers can add more dates for the show while fans can get
closer to their favorite artists. To cope up with the trend,
Impact is now renovating Exhibition Hall 1-4 with the addition of
light and sound systems that are the same standard as Impact
Arena. In addition, space rentals have been adjusted to be more
competitive among other players in the small-scale market. The
sales team offers choices of space rental packages suitable for
different venues to ensure that our customers will get great value
of money, worth every baht spent. So, they may consider Impact as
their first venue option for other events,” Mr. Loy concluded.
Last year, Impact received space reservation
requests for both Thai and international concerts such as Luna Sea
– The End of the Dream Live in Bangkok and Santana The Sentient
Tour that will take place on 2 March 2013 at Impact Arena.
Meanwhile, Mister Team Return and Stamp Krian Day concerts that
were postponed from their original schedules last year have been
rescheduled for 16 February and 16 March 2013, respectively. In
addition, Ploenchit Concert is also set for 16 March 2013 at
Impact Arena. Impact expects to gain approximately 120 million
baht from concerts in the 2012 fiscal year ending in March 2013
and accounting for 7% of the company’s total revenue.
