Sheikh Majid Al Mualla has been appointed as
Emirates Airline’s Divisional Senior Vice President (DSVP)
Commercial Operations - Centre.
His geographical responsibilities now
cover the Gulf, Middle East, Iran, as well as West Asia.
Previously, Sheikh Majid held the position of
Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations (Gulf, Middle East &
Iran).
Sheikh Majid joined Emirates as a management
trainee in 1996 after graduation from the Embry-Riddle
Aeronautical University in Florida.
“The fact that he joined the company as a
trainee and worked his way up through the ranks says a great deal
about his commitment and ability,” said Thierry Antinori, Emirates
Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. “Majid is a
tremendous asset to the airline and has contributed a great deal
to the business in his different roles over the years.”
Sheikh Majid’s current projects include
overseeing the newly-launched Kabul route and the start of A380
services to Mauritius, effective 16 December 2013. The airline
operated a one-off
A380 service to Mauritius earlier this year.
The role of DSVP, Commercial Operations – Centre
is flanked geographically by the DSVP Commercial Operations -
West, Hubert Frach, and the DSVP Commercial Operations East, Barry
Brown.
