Michael McCann has been appointed as CEO of GKN
Aerospace - Engine Systems, the new business formed from the
company’s recent acquisition of Volvo Aero.
Charles Paterson is to take up the position of
Senior Vice President of Business Development and Strategy for GKN
Aerospace – the role vacated by McCann.
Marcus Bryson, CEO, GKN Aerospace and Land
Systems said, “These are critical positions influencing the future
direction and success of our increasing aerospace operation. Our
new Engine Systems business is among the global market leaders in
its field and Mike’s focus is on making the business highly
competitive and able to fully exploit its extensive technological
expertise. Charles takes on leadership of our strategic planning
and business development, which is fundamental to the success of
our on-going growth strategy.”
Mike McCann joined GKN Aerospace in April 2009
as vice president, programmes of GKN Aerostructures - North
America, responsible for all programme management operations for
the business. Prior to joining GKN Aerospace, Mike was vice
president, guided munitions & indirect fires for ATK Advanced
Weapons Division and held positions of increasing responsibility
in Alliant Techsystems (ATK) for whom he worked for 24 years.
Charles Paterson was previously responsible for
strategy and business development for GKN Aerospace’s European and
special products businesses. Paterson joined GKN Aerospace in 2009
as part of the acquisition of the Airbus Filton operations and was
general manager at Filton until early 2012, where he played a key
role in the successful integration and extended performance of the
Filton operation.
