Swiss-based Vertis Aviation, part of the
independently owned aviation company 28 East Group, has appointed
Julian Burrell as Managing Director of its new London business
which is due to launch in December 2012.
Located in one of the UK capital’s most
exclusive areas, Vertis Aviation UK Limited will be completely
autonomous and run separately from the Zug-headquartered Vertis
business.
In the newly created role Julian will be
responsible for managing the charter brokerage service.
With an aviation career spanning almost two decades,
Julian brings extensive charter brokerage experience to the role having worked at Board level for a number of years with successful
international charter broker The Charter Company.
Julian studied
for a Master’s degree in Air Transport Management at the UK’s
prestigious Cranfield University before embarking on a career in
the sector.
Erica Da Veiga, Vertis Aviation partner
said, “Julian’s appointment as Managing Director of the new
UK office demonstrates our continued commitment to adding real
value to our business proposition. We understand that Vertis UK Ltd’s charter clients need to have an independent point of contact
to ensure they can access business jets most suitable for their
client’s mission. Charter brokers contacting Vertis Aviation in
Zug for quotes on the fleet need to be assured of absolute
discretion which is one of the reasons we have decided to take
this move in setting up an independent charter brokerage”
Burrell added, “This is an exciting opportunity for
Vertis and my remit to manage an independent, dedicated brokerage
division enables us to provide an even greater breadth of offering
to our direct clients.”
Based in Zug, Switzerland, sister
company Vertis Aviation will continue to focus on the operations
side of the business which sees the company forming marketing
alliances with preferred suppliers and leading aircraft operators
to create a premiere fleet of aircraft that can be offered for
private and corporate charter.
The current Vertis “fleet” includes a Bombardier Learjet 60, Dassault Falcon 7X, a
Global Express, a Global XRS and an Airbus Corporate Jet.
