LAN Airlines has launched flights to Chiloe
Island becoming the first carrier to operate to the Chilean
southern Island.
LAN will operate commercially with four
weekly flights from Santiago via Puerto Montt, on Wednesdays,
Fridays, Saturday and Sunday.
The approximate flight time from Puerto Montt to
Mocopulli Airport is 35 minutes.
Flights will be operated with a Airbus A320
aircraft.
Speaking at the launch, LAN CEO for Chile,
Enrique Elsaca, who stressed the importance of the launch, said,
"Today is a very special day for us, a solid step forward in our
challenge of contributing toward the development of Chile and its
regions; to connect the country and the world. We believe that our
operation in Chile will help drive the economic and touristic
development of Chiloe, which is our 16th route within Chile."
