Hotel Fort Canning officially opened on 27 July
2012 with a charity gala dinner supporting Club Rainbow Singapore.
The event not only celebrated Hotel Fort Canning in preserving one
of Singapore’s historical landmarks but also commemorated the
charity’s 20th anniversary.
The 40-table charity gala dinner was held at
Hotel Fort Canning’s Legends Ballroom and successfully raised a
total of Sin$ 114,000 for the children of Club Rainbow. The charity
supports families of children suffering from major chronic and potentially life-threatening illness.
Blending colonial stateliness with
modern amenities, the 86-room Hotel Fort Canning is in a
restored heritage building once used as a base for the British Far
East Command during World War II.
The hotel
features an extensive recreational and leisure facility including
two outdoor swimming pools, 240sqm gymnasium, two bars and two
restaurants.
Hotel Fort Canning is around a 5-minute walk
from Orchard Road.
