American Airlines and Air Tahiti Nui have signed
a bilateral codeshare agreement and applied for approval by the
U.S. Department of Transportation.
When approved, the codeshare
agreement will allow American to place its code on Air Tahiti Nui
flights between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Papeete Faa'a International Airport (PPT).
It will also allow Air
Tahiti Nui to place its code on American flights from Los Angeles
to more than 15 cities throughout the United States including New
York, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Chicago, Boston, Dallas/Fort
Worth, Miami and Washington - Dulles and Reagan National.
"Upon approval, our codeshare relationship with Air Tahiti Nui
will give our customers yet another option when traveling to the
South Pacific and French Polynesia," said Kurt Stache, American's
Vice President – Strategic Alliances. "We look forward to working
with Air Tahiti Nui to provide our customers more options and easy
access when traveling throughout our respective networks."
