Etihad Airways and NIKI, an airberlin group
subsidiary airline, have begun the sale of joint codeshare
flights.
In December 2011
Etihad Airways
became airberlin's largest single shareholder.
Now, Etihad Airways will place its EY code on
NIKI (HG) operated flights from Frankfurt, Milan and Munich to the
Austrian capital Vienna.
Already, Etihad Guest
frequent flyer program members can earn Etihad Guest Miles on all
NIKI operated flights as part of the existing agreement between topbonus and Etihad Guest.
Etihad Airways President
and Chief Executive Officer, James Hogan, said, "The beautiful city
of Vienna is now one step closer thanks to these new codeshare
flights. This is yet another tangible step in the
roll-out and integration of our extensive cooperation with the airberlin group, and we look forward to announcing more
destinations as our strategic partnership develops."
