Munich Airport Signs Up To Google's Indoor Maps Service

Munich Airport has become one of the first organizations in Germany to sign up with Google's Indoor Maps service.

The worldwide Google Maps service is now moving indoors, offering maps of the interiors of large public buildings such as airports, shopping malls and museums. That means that anyone with a smartphone or tablet running the mobile operating system can use it to find their way around all levels of these buildings and use wireless network data there to check their location.

The Google Maps app for Android shows maps of both terminals and the Munich Airport Center. Just like in Google city maps, users can retrieve details on many restaurants, shops and other highlighted destinations.

Google Indoor Maps puts yet another resource in the hands of passengers and visitors for finding out about many possibilities available to them before they start their journey or arrive at the airport.
