TripAdvisor Appoints Cindy Tan as VP of Display Advertising Sales for Asia Pacific

TripAdvisor has appointment Cindy Tan as Vice President of Display Advertising Sales, Asia Pacific.

Based in Singapore, Cindy will lead a team in continuing to drive the growth of the business in Asia Pacific, including China, India and Japan.

Cindy has over 14 years of experience across sales, marketing and business development in the media industry.

Prior to TripAdvisor, she was at BBC Worldwide for seven years with her last role as Regional Director for its Southeast Asia and China operations.

Before BBC Worldwide, she was Regional Manager at a travel trade company managing its multi-platform solutions.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Monash University and an Executive Certificate in Finance from INSEAD.

“With unique user traffic to TripAdvisor sites across Asia Pacific growing at double digits year-on-year and crossing the 10 million mark for the first time in May, the region is an important market for us,” said Robin Ingle, Senior Vice President of Advertising Sales at TripAdvisor. “Through Cindy’s leadership and our shared industry knowledge, we wish to continue to develop innovative and truly effective campaign solutions for client and media agencies in Asia Pacific.”

From January to May 2012, the number of sold advertisements on TripAdvisor sites in Asia Pacific grew by 129% year-on-year, with the strongest growth coming from airlines (211%) and tourism boards (500%).
