Cathay Pacific Appoints Cecilia Leung as GM Corporate Communications

Cathay Pacific has appointed Ms Cecilia Leung as General Manager Corporate Communications, effective 1 September 2012.

In her new position, Ms Leung is responsible for the communication strategies of the Cathay Pacific Group and oversees all public and media relations, public affairs, general communication issues and corporate social responsibility programmes of the group globally.

Prior to taking up her current position, Ms Leung was General Manager Inflight Services and General Manager International Affairs of Dragonair, Cathay Pacific’s sister airline with an extensive network in Mainland China and Asia, overseeing the airline’s international affairs issues as well as all matters relating to inflight services including cabin crew management, inflight catering, inflight sales and service enhancement.

Ms Leung joined the Cathay Pacific Group in 2000 and among her senior appointments were Manager Inflight Services Department Strategic Planning at Cathay Pacific Airways and Managing Director of Cathay Holidays Limited.

Ms Leung was a Management Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting prior to joining the Cathay Pacific Group.

She graduated as Bachelor in Business Administration from the University of British Columbia, Canada, specialising in Urban Land Economics, and also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Sydney.

Ms Leung takes over from Mr C K Yeung, who will take up the post of Special Advisor to Chief Operating Officer, also effective 1 September 2012.
