The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali celebrated the
spirit of goodwill this festive season by helping to create a
green environment for children in need.
Under the banner of the Starwood initiative
‘Care for Community’, staff from the Jakarta Sales Office recently
visited the Sekolah Alternatif Untuk Anak Jalanan (Alternative
School for Street Children) to donate a selection of plants.
Ms. Naomi Sihombing together with her team also
hosted an array of fun activities and word games for the children
as well as distributed goodie bags filled with nutritious snacks.
A plant was hung in front of the school to symbolize the visit and
watering cans were handed out to nurture this small garden
setting.
Care for Community by The Westin Resort Nusa Dua,
Bali is a ‘green’ initiative that is just one of many programs on
Starwood’s Care agenda. The resort has also successfully achieved
Green Globe Benchmarked Silver status for the third time.
“This visit was undertaken to help create a
healthier place of learning for children. We hope that early
exposure to the importance of plants will help the children
understand that green living is essential to the future of our
planet,” commented Mr. Bipan Kapur, General Manager of the resort.
Being the only Westin branded property in
Indonesia since December 2003, the 334-room Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali
enjoys a prime beachfront location in the Nusa Dua enclave on
Bali’s southern tip.
Adjacent to the Resort is The Bali International
Convention Centre, one of the largest meeting resources on the island
consisting of a ballroom, exhibition space, auditorium and
20 meeting rooms and sufficient space to cater for up to 10,000
participants.
