[HD video below]
This exclusive HD video with the CEO of Tune Hotels Group, Mr.
Mark Lankester, was filmed in the Lobby Lounge of
The
Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur on 29 November 2012.
In the HD video, Steven Howard of ASIA Travel
Tips discusses with Mr. Lankester the Tune Hotels Group's
expansion plans, and discovers how many hotels it hopes to have
open by 2015.
We discuss the geographic areas of growth in terms
of which countries Tune Hotels is targeting for its ambitious
expansion plans. We also look at what challenges some of the major
hubs in Asia Pacific, such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Seoul and
Tokyo pose as potential areas of growth, and how soon will it be
before we see a Tune Hotel in Australia, China or India.
Tune Hotels already has quite a few hotels open
in the UK, and is about to open a very exciting new property in
Edinburgh. We discuss these hotels, learn what the new hotel in
Scotland has to do with Murrayfield Stadium, and what type of challenges
the immense competition from very established budget hotel
companies in the UK pose to the Malaysian-based Tune Hotels Group.
Guest demographics are discussed, and viewers
will learn what percentages of guests are male and female, their
average age, where they are mainly coming from, and whether they
are travelling on business or leisure.
Green credentials are also looked at. With one
major budget hotel chain in the UK starting to use Solar Power, we
ask what Tune Hotels is doing to lessen its carbon footprint and
become more environmentally friendly.
We ask what Mr. Lankester's thoughts are on new
technology, and how soon it will be before we see self check-in
kiosks and such like at Tune Hotels here in Asia Pacific or
elsewhere.
All this, and a lot, lot more. This is not an
interview you should miss, and we hope to have many more from Mr.
Lankester and the Tune Hotels Group in the future.
