It was only on Tuesday that we reported that
registration for the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2013
would open on 24 October.
Now, just over a day later, the Hong Kong
Amateur Athletic Association (HKAAA) has confirmed that due to the
overwhelming response, the online enrolment for the Marathon and
Half Marathon is already closed.
There are however still limited quotas available
by post, but the organizer strongly urges runners to submit their
applications as early as possible.
Chairman of the Standard Chartered Hong Kong
Marathon 2013 Organizing Committee, William Ko, said, "We would
like to thank all parties for their unfailing support of the
Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon. All online quotas were
filled within 2 days. Once again the race has been the largest
participatory sporting event in Hong Kong which is well received
by the passionate runners."
