[HD video below] On Saturday, 22 September 2012, TravelNewsAsia.com had the opportunity to sit down with Benito C Bengzon JR., Assistant Secretary International Tourism Promotions, Department of Tourism, Philippines.

In what is our second interview with this highly respected figure in the tourism industry, we ask about the status of tourism to the Philippines, how important the Japanese market is in terms of numbers and whether targets for this year are being met and how they compare to last year.

We also ask which areas of the beautiful Philippines the DOT is currently promoting, and how, what its overall visitor arrival targets are for this year and also for 2013, and much, much more.

The interview took place at the JATA Tourism Forum and Travel Showcase 2012 in Tokyo, Japan, where the Philippines had a very impressive stand (as can be seen in the video below) complete numerous fun components to promote its new tagline - It's more fun in the Philippines!
