[HD video below] Mr. Giles Selves has been appointed as General
Manager of Keraton at The Plaza, a Luxury Collection Hotel located
on Jalan Thamrin, one of Jakarta’s most prestigious districts.
British native Mr. Selves has been with
Starwood for almost two decades, where he has specialized
in hotel operations as well as developing food and
beverage programs and concepts to enhance the guest experience.
He comes to The Keraton direct from The St. Regis Bangkok, where
he was the Hotel Manager for the pre-opening team for Thailand’s
first St. Regis hotel.
Prior to The St. Regis Bangkok, Mr. Selves was a
member of the pre-opening team as Director of Operations for The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort and The
Westin Costa Navarino Resort, a fully integrated golf, beach and
spa resort complex in Greece.
Before this position, Mr. Selves worked for five
years with Starwood Hotels & Resorts divisional office for Europe,
Africa and the Middle East in various positions supporting the
company’s growth across the region.
As Director of Restaurant and Bar
Development, Mr. Selves lead the development of culinary concepts
and third party operator relationships for many hotels, including
W Barcelona, W Leicester Square in London, The Grand Mauritian, W
Doha, W Istanbul and The Westin Paris.
Prior to this Mr. Selves held the position of
Food and Beverage Manager at The Westin Turnberry Resort in
Scotland having moved after launching his hospitality career in
London with the Sheraton and Luxury Collection brands, serving in
positions at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel and Sheraton Park Tower
Hotel.
