On Friday, 23 March 2012, TravelNewsAsia.com sat down with Mr.
John Girard - General Manager of the Regal Kowloon Hotel and Vice
President Development - Regal Hotels International, to ask him
about some of the latest developments at the hotel, and to
discover what else is in the plans.
In the video interview below, you will learn why
the executive club lounge - or Regal Club Lounge, as it is called
- has moved from the 14th floor to the 1st floor, how the new
lounge differs, its capacity, what time it opens and closes, and
what it now offers guests that are staying in one of the executive
floor rooms.
You will also learn about the hotel's ambitious
plans for the internet, what will become of the space where the
lounge used to be located, what the hotel is trying to get into
the Guinness World Records for, whether the hotel has increased or
decreased the number of airline cabin crew rooms, and how the hotel has managed to
the triple revenue from its lounge bar.
On top of that, we discuss the market breakdown
of guests, why there has been a shift in the number of corporate
vs leisure travellers, how room reservations through the internet
has grown (or not), how the hotel takes care of growing number of
Chinese guests and how those guests have changed over the recent
years.
Plus, Mr Girard discusses vodka, tells us a
little about RHI's ambitious growth plans for the region, and lets
slip who he is hoping will win the
2012 Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens this weekend! Watch
the video below.
