Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has appointed Franck
Courmont as general counsel, Asia Pacific, effective 1 November
2012.
Based in Singapore, Franck will report directly
to Simon Barlow, president for Asia Pacific.
“Franck will be a great addition to the Asia
Pacific leadership team. His excellent track record as a legal
practitioner and in-house legal counsel makes him an ideal
candidate for this important role. He joins us from The Rezidor
Hotel Group, bringing with him a wealth of legal expertise and
experience. With a full slate of hotel openings on the horizon and
a strong and growing pipeline, the new appointment will provide
valuable legal support to the regional team as well as strengthen and complete our Asia Pacific leadership team,” said Simon Barlow,
president, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, Asia Pacific.
Prior to this appointment, Franck was vice president, legal,
at Rezidor Hotel Group in Brussels for seven years. At Rezidor, Franck successfully negotiated more than 100 management agreements
and licences for Radisson Blu, Park Inn by Radisson and Hotel Missoni in EMEA. He was also responsible for setting up and
managing joint ventures for real estate investments in emerging
markets.
He has 20 years of legal experience and has previously
held positions including global head of legal at AXA Investment
Managers and legal team leader at the European Bank for
Reconstruction and Development, based in London. He also worked at
Willkie, Farr & Gallagher; White & Case; as well as Arthur
Andersen International in Paris.
Franck has a
Bachelors degree in Public Law from the University of Picardie, a
Master of Arts degree in Public Administration from the Institut
d'Etudes Politiques de Paris, Master of Laws degrees in
International and European Law and in French Business Law and
Taxation from the University of Paris II, as well as a Master of
Laws degree from Duke University School of Law.
