FCm Travel Solutions has used its annual
conference to showcase the company’s latest developments in
technology and future strategies for sales, account management and
marketing.
Called FCm NextGen 2012, the three-day
conference was held at the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi and
attracted a record 170 registrations from FCm’s global network.
The conference focused on the future of the
global business travel industry and featured a dynamic line-up of
keynote speakers including Bill Lawler, Vice President Global
Customers IT Solutions from Amadeus Asia Pacific, and Rohit Talwar
CEO and founder of research and consultancy firm Fast Future.
Presentations from FCm’s senior business leaders
covered a range of topics for delegates including account
management, sales, social media and travel technology.
FCm Global Leader, Gregory Lording, said the event clearly
mapped out the road ahead for the company’s international network,
which now spans 78 countries.
“FCm NextGen provided
a broad overview of what the global travel industry would look
like by 2020 and beyond, and creatively showcased the travel and
technology tools we believe will ‘future proof’ FCm’s unique value
and offering in the corporate travel market,” Gregory said.
“The role of technology in travel has gained
significant pace during the past few years and will continue to
shape how we do business in the future. It’s important we stay
ahead of the trends by continuing to develop proprietary products
that will drive efficiencies for our staff and ultimately our
clients.
“Our objective for FCm NextGen was to
demonstrate to the entire network all of the technology platforms
we intend to implement universally over the coming 12 months to
enhance our global capabilities for client data management, client
travel reporting, ticketing processes, online booking solutions,
mobile phone applications, traveller tracking and social media platforms. As part of this we held a break-out bazaar where
delegates were split into small groups and rotated around 10 learning and development sessions.
“Delegates will
be looking to implement these products in their own markets to
ensure we can offer clients a globally uniform approach to
corporate travel management across our operation.”
During the conference delegates also received insight into the
success of FCm Ireland’s business, which has been named one of
Ireland’s top workplaces, a profile of the ‘new corporate
traveller’, game dynamics in travel, employee hyper performance
and sustainability.
