Singapore Airlines highly popular Airbus A380
is now flying to Frankfurt and New York.
Flight SQ26 is scheduled to touchdown in
Frankfurt at 06:10, after which it departs the German city at
08:20 to arrive at New Yorks JFK airport at 11:10.
The daily A380 flights replace an existing
daily Boeing 747-400 service to JFK Airport via Frankfurt,
and represent a daily increase of 25% in seat capacity.
Frankfurt and New York will be Singapore
Airlines ninth and tenth destinations to receive the extremely
impressive superjumbo.
Frankfurt is Singapore Airlines fourth point in Europe to be
added to the list, after London, Paris and Zurich, while New York
is the second point in North America, after Los Angeles.
The Singapore Airlines A380 has proven
exceptionally popular with customers, with strong loads on all
routes it serves. The worlds first carrier to operate the A380 in
October 2007, Singapore Airlines has since carried more than 6
million customers on the superjumbo system-wide.
The airline
currently has 15 A380s in service and four more on firm order.
