The Yue Shanghai Hotel has rebranded as the
Dorsett Shanghai.
Dorsett Shanghai, which opened in February, 2010
as Yue Shanghai Hotel, is located in close proximity to Pudong’s
major business, commercial and leisure hubs.
The hotel stands
across from Century Park, a 150 million-metre eco-park, which
gives hotel guests a picturesque view of natural greenery. Pudong
International Airport is a 30-minute trip by car. Short drives
take guests to the Shanghai International Expo Centre, and the
Shanghai Maglev Station, the only operational magnetic levitation
train the in the world, which connects to the Pudong Airport. In Puxi or “west of the Huangpu River”, is the famous Nanjing Road,
the city’s premier shopping street, which is easily accessible via
metro line 2 subway, with the Century Park station adjacent to the hotel.
Dorsett Shanghai features 264 rooms and
suites, which are designed in contemporary style, with subtle
Oriental touches, making it one of the city’s trendiest hotels and
winner of the “The Most Charming Boutique Hotel” honour in the
recent China Leisure Creative Awards sponsored by the Shanghai
Tourism Association.
Rooms consist of deluxe rooms
and suites with panoramic views of the park and the Pudong
skyline, a Grand Executive Suite and the 188sqm Chairman Suite.
Guests are offered a complete line of conveniences such as
wireless broadband Internet access, in-room coffee and tea maker,
phone with voicemail, iPod dock, a 32” LCD TV with international
satellite channels and deluxe bathrooms with rainforest shower
amongst others.
Free shuttle bus services are
provided on weekdays for SNIEC, Kerry Parkside, Zhangjiang and Jin
Qiao Hi-tech Zones. Dining options include international cuisine
at Gusto on the Green, hairy crab Chinese specialities at Xin
Guang, refreshments and afternoon tea at the Lobby Lounge and
Breeze. Fengshui Bar offers a relaxing respite with pre and after dinner cocktails complemented by mellow background music.
Conference and banquet facilities include a 250sqm
Ballroom supported by two other large function rooms which can be divided for flexibility when organizing mid to small-scale
functions. The new name on the hotel façade indicates not only a new brand but a renewed pledge of continuing efforts from the
hotel for high-quality facilities and service excellence to its valued customers and guests.
“Along with this new development, the management
and staff of Dorsett Shanghai, have made a full commitment to
extending to our guests nothing less than our best to make their
stay experience as pleasant and positive as possible. Experiences
that will make them resolve to stay with us again in their
subsequent trips. Hopefully they tell others what an excellent
hotel Dorsett Shanghai is.” says General Manager Doris Hui. “We
have received much support in the last two and half years from our
clients and guests and members of our community and we are
extremely appreciative.”
Despite the rebranding, the hotel remains a
member of Worlhotels.
