Tune Hotels has spread its wings to the
Philippines with the official opening of Tune Hotel Angeles City.
The 165-room hotel is designed to be an airport hotel, providing
convenience to passengers of the Diosdado Macapagal International
Airport, also known as the Clark Airfield which is just 10
minutes’ drive away.
The airport is also the hub for
Philippine-based low cost carrier AirAsia Inc. (Philippines) that
plans to start flying to domestic and international destinations
in the near future.
Group CEO of Tune Hotels, Mark Lankester said,
“We are delighted to have finally established our first hotel
in the Philippines right here in Angeles City, Pampanga ... More
Tune Hotels will be opening in the Philippines and we are excited
to participate and play a key role in the robustly growing tourism
and travel industry of the Philippines ... With over
7,000 beautiful islands, the Philippines is a vastly popular
travel destination, not just with international travellers but
also with the local market. Year on year, there has been significant growth in travelling to the Philippines from soaking
up the sun on the world renowned beaches of Cebu to experiencing
the Filipino culture at the heart of Manila. We see a huge
potential in the Philippine market and that is why we are here.”
The Tune Hotel Angeles City is owned and
operated by Red Planet Hotels under a franchise agreement with
Tune Hotels for the development of Tune Hotels in the Philippines,
Thailand and Indonesia.
Located along the
hotel and restaurant stretch of Friendship Road, Tune Hotel
Angeles City is also 10 minutes by car to the Clark Freeport Zone,
a former US Airbase that has been redeveloped with modern
infrastructure facilities.
Angeles is approximately 80
kilometres north of Manila and can be reached within around an hour by
car or air-conditioned bus.
Tune Hotel Angeles
City is the first of seven hotels scheduled for opening by Red
Planet Hotels and Tune Hotels in the Philippines from now through
to 2013.
The Angeles opening will be immediately followed by a
hotel in Cebu on 23 February and Ermita on 9 March. Future
