OnAir has been granted authorization for its
airline customers to provide Internet OnAir, the inflight Wi-Fi
service, within Australian airspace.
OnAirs customers currently operating WiFi
services on flights to Australia, including Emirates, Qantas and
Singapore Airlines, can now capitalise on this new authorization,
meaning passengers can use Wi-Fi throughout the flight, including
over Australian airspace.
Airlines who want their passengers to enjoy
inflight connectivity wherever they travel need OnAir," said Ian
Dawkins, OnAir CEO. "Our expertise in securing regulatory
approvals means we have a network of more than 80 governmental
authorities and over 350 roaming agreements with mobile operators.
OnAir is the only provider able to offer inflight Wi-Fi and GSM
mobile phone services on a global scale.
OnAir has, for the past seven years, led the
industrys work in building strong relationships with national
telecommunications regulators and ensuring its inflight
connectivity solutions meet their requirements. This has been a
significant contributing factor to the growth of inflight
connectivity, and in particular in OnAirs market leadership.
