Air Works in New Delhi, India, has been
named as a new Line Maintenance Facility (LMF) for Bombardier
Aerospace’s Challenger 604, Challenger 605, Global Express
and Global Express XRS business jets.
The facility will complement Air Works’
centre in Mumbai, which has been part of Bombardier’s Authorized
Service Facility network since 2008.
“Our longstanding relationship with Air Works
and their commitment to excellence make them a perfect fit for
the needs of Bombardier operators in the region,” said Éric
Martel, President, Customer Services & Specialized and
Amphibious Aircraft, Bombardier Aerospace. “The two Air Works
facilities are an important part of our overall network in
India, anchored by our Mumbai Regional Support Office. We
continue to place a heavy focus on growing our local roots in key markets, and are pleased to collaborate with local partners.”
The newly authorized New Delhi facility, centrally located at
Indira Gandhi International Airport, features a 9,042-sq.-ft. (approximately 840-sq.-m.) maintenance hangar.
Air Works has
provided maintenance services for business aviation for more
than 60 years and features maintenance professionals across 14
locations in India. Air Works employs approximately 550 general
aviation maintenance professionals who, depending on workload,
can be deployed across India, including its two main bases in New
Delhi and Mumbai.
"Developing a healthy working relationship
between any Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and its
chosen service provider is key in the delivery of best practice
maintenance,” said Nick White, Vice President – General
Aviation MRO, Air Works. “That is why we have chosen to increase
our Bombardier authorized service facility coverage to include
Mumbai and now New Delhi—demonstrating that our working
relationship with Bombardier goes from strength to strength. I
look forward to continuing to work hand in hand with
Bombardier, providing excellence in maintenance as we seek to
continuously improve in all we do.”
The new LMF
brings to 58 the number of Authorized Service Facilities (ASFs)
and LMFs catering to Bombardier’s business and commercial aircraft
customers worldwide. These are supported by 9
Bombardier-owned service centres in North America and Europe.
