[HD video below]
On Thursday, 9 August 2012, Steven Howard of TravelNewsAsia.com sat down with Mr. Rajan Datar, Presenter of BBC World News's popular Fast Track
travel programme, to ask him about his thoughts on the latest, and
hottest issues in travel.
In the interview, you will learn Mr. Datar's
thoughts about airport security, and what can be done to find a
balance between the need for security as well as passenger
convenience, whether a scheme such as the pre-approved passenger
programme in America is a good one, and whether it will spread
around the globe, and whether he thinks child-free flights could
take off or is that a step in the wrong direction.
We also ask Mr. Datar which airport has had the
biggest impact on him in his many years of travelling the globe,
which services stand out and how airport lounges can improve.
We discuss hotel technology and learn Mr.
Datar's thoughts on "green" hotels, self-service check-in, the
star rating system and much, much more.
You will also discover how many of those top
5-star hotels around the world - in 20+ years of travelling, who
all have Mr. Datar's contact details from when he checked-in, and
often base entire multi-million dollar marketing campaigns on
loyalty and service - have a system in place that sends him a
birthday card or message every year!
