In July 2011, Finnair traffic measured in
Revenue Passenger Kilometres rose by 14.6% as the overall capacity
grew 14.7% compared with July 2010.
Asian traffic capacity
measured in Available Seat Kilometres grew close to 30% and
traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres increased by 26%.
Overall, Finnair scheduled traffic grew by 23.9% mainly as a
result of the
Singapore route launch.
“Business travel demand
continued to develop favourably in July, particularly in Asian
traffic. Seasonally the traffic is strong during the third
quarter. In July, our passenger load factors were very close to
last year’s levels despite the substantial capacity growth. Travel
demand from Europe to Japan continued to improve as well,” said
Finnair CFO Erno Hildén.
Cargo capacity grew by 10.2%, but
the traffic by revenue tonne kilometers fell by 1.4% compared
with July 2010.
The
arrival punctuality of Finnair flights in July was 79% (85.7%). In
scheduled traffic 80.2% (87.3) of all flights arrived on
schedule. Punctuality figures were mainly affected by air traffic
control restrictions in Finland and in Europe.
