InterContinental and Holiday Inn Bangkok Launch WiFi Limo Service

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Videos Wednesday, 8 June 2011

Guests of the InterContinental Bangkok and Holiday Inn Bangkok can now remain connected even when on the road, thanks to the hotels new limousine Wi-Fi service.

When using a limousine for airport transfer (arriving or departing) as well as for city tours, guests can surf, work and e-mail, just as they would in the room or at home.

The limousine Wi-Fi service is provided by TOT 3G and offers a maximum speed of 7.2 Mbps. Coverage encompasses metropolitan Bangkok and some surrounding suburbs. The service is accessible via any Wi-Fi enabled device.

All guests at the two hotels enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi in the public areas including lobbies, at Club InterContinental, Holiday Inns Executive Club, Concierge and in the restaurants although the signal is slightly unreliable; iPad access is also available in both hotels lobbies.

While the free WiFi does extend to the limousine service, guests staying at either of the two hotels still have to pay for internet access in their rooms, even if they have splashed out for the Club Floors. This is despite many other leading hotel companies now offering complimentary internet access throughout the hotel, regardless of brand, or room rate paid. The two Bangkok hotels charge THB 200 for 1 hour or THB 642 for 24-hour internet access.
