Hertz UAE has added one of the safest cars in
the world to its fleet.
The arrival of the new 2012 Volvo S60
sedan is the latest step in an ongoing safe driving initiative by
the company, which has made airbags and anti-lock braking systems
(ABS) standard across its entire range of cars, SUVs and trucks.
“Road accidents in the UAE fell 21% from 2009
to 2010 and we want to play our part in making sure that trend
continues,” said Nigel Johnson, Managing Director, Hertz UAE. “Bringing in more vehicles with the most
technologically advanced safety features can only help, and this
is part of our ongoing policy to support moves to reduce the
number of accidents.”
Hailed by independent driving
experts as both one of the safest and most fun cars to drive, the
sporty five-door 2012 Volvo S60 sedan has groundbreaking safety
features such as the ‘Blind Spot Information System’ (BSIS).
This causes sensors installed in the vehicle’s side
mirrors to monitor the sides of the vehicle and alert the driver
with a pair of warning lights when another vehicle enters the
blind spot.
Part of the Al-Futtaim Group, Hertz
UAE recently expanded its network to 14 locations across the
Emirates by opening an exclusive service desk at Abu Dhabi
International Airport, a new branch at Etihad Plaza and a branch
in Al Ain.
