InterContinental Hotels Group has reported
another successful period for hotel signings, adding a further 54
hotels to its European pipeline in the year from June 2010 to May
2011.
The 7,874 rooms are spread across the UK, Germany, France,
Italy, Spain, Portugal, Russia, Turkey, the Netherlands, and
Switzerland.
Kirk Kinsell, president for Europe, Middle
East and Africa, IHG said, "Signing a further 54 properties is
testament to the strength of our brands and reflects our
commitment to growth in Europe. These new additions mean IHG
continues to hold the hospitality industry's largest development
pipeline with 1,236 hotels worldwide."

Hotel Indigo Berlin Alexanderplatz and Hotel
Indigo Berlin Hardenbergstrae are both owned and managed by Azure
Property Group and are the first Hotel Indigo properties to open
in Germany.
The 152-room Hotel Indigo Berlin Alexanderplatz, due to open in Spring 2012, is part of a new build
development. Located in the eastern part of cultural and historic Alexanderplatz, it is close to local restaurants and bars as well
as Berlin's biggest railway station.

Hardenbergstrae is an 81-room office conversion. Due to open in
Spring 2012, the hotel is located close to the famous Ku'damm
Avenue, known for its designer shops, restaurants and bars.

259.HPH-Hotelentwicklung Hamburg GmbH & Co KG, is a 94-room new
build property, scheduled to open in Autumn 2012.

Indigo Birmingham is a 52-room office conversion within The Cube,
Birmingham's famous landmark building. Owned by Commercial Street
Hotel Ltd and Quadrate Hotel Ltd, the hotel is scheduled to open
in Autumn 2011.
Hotel Indigo York, owned by Sojourn Hotels,
is a 101-room new build property located within the city walls of
York and scheduled to open in Summer 2012. Sojourn Hotels will
also open Hotel Indigo Edinburgh, a 60-room independent hotel
rebranding to Hotel Indigo in Autumn 2011.

Newcastle, managed by Sanguine Hospitality Ltd, is due to open in
Summer 2012. Currently a disused office building, Hotel Indigo
Newcastle is part conversion, part new build. The 148-room hotel
is located in the heart of the city centre.

Madrid Gran Via is set to open in Spring 2012. The 89 bedroom
hotel, owned by Orion, will be situated in the centre of Madrid,
close to the Opera House, the Almudena Cathedral and the main
museums in the area. It also has easy access to the main conference centres and train station, making it ideal for both
business and leisure guests.
Hotel Indigo Lisbon Baixa,
owned by Sowhat Turismo is set to open early 2014. The 139-room
hotel is a conversion of an old convent located in the old city of
Lisbon. Historic buildings in the old city centre are highly
protected, making this project unique and a great fit with the
Hotel Indigo brand.
Staybridge Suites
Staybridge Suites Edinburgh, managed by BDL Management is set to
open in Winter 2012. This new build hotel will have 121 extended stay suites and will be located within minutes of the city centre.
Staybridge Suites London Stratford has 162 extended stay
suites and will open in Spring 2012. Owned by ES Properties
(Stratford) Limited, the hotel will provide guests with a view of
the Olympic Park.

Plaza Geneva, owned by Hotels Intercontinental Geneve SA, is a 308-room fast track rebranding that opened in February 2011.

160-room new build property that opened in April 2011.

LLC, is a 200-room new build that opened in May 2011.

207-room new build property, set to open in Autumn 2011.

further Crowne Plaza hotel located in Amstelkwartier, owned by
Amstelside BV, is a 310-room new build property scheduled to open
in Autumn 2013. The hotel has been awarded LEED Platinum status -
an internationally recognised sustainability standard - and is the
first hotel to achieve this rating in Europe.

opened in April 2011.

open in Spring 2012.

Valvert, is a 104-room rebranding set to open at the beginning of

West India Dock Road Limited, is a 252-room new build property
scheduled to open in Summer 2012.

Sherwood Park, owned by Signature Hotels Ltd, is a 92-room
rebranding that is scheduled to open in Summer 2011.

a 207-room new build property due to open at the beginning of 2013.

Limited, is a 154-room rebranding that is scheduled to open at the
end of 2011.
Holiday Inn Berlin Alexanderplatz, owned and
managed by Azure Property Group, is due to open in Spring 2012.
The 242-room hotel will be part of the same new build development
which will be home to the Hotel Indigo Berlin Alexanderplatz.

Imobiliaria SA, is a 179-room hotel which rebranded from Sol Melia
in just nine days to open as a Holiday Inn in May 2011.
Holiday Inn London Commercial Road, owned by Sleeptex, is
scheduled to open in Summer 2012. The 137-room new build hotel is
within easy access to the City of London and Canary Wharf.
Holiday Inn Newcastle Jesmond, owned by the Cairn Group, opened in
December 2010 after a 3.5 million conversion. This 116-room
hotel, which has been rebranded to a Holiday Inn hotel is located
in an upmarket residential area close to the city centre.
Holiday Inn Darlington A1 Scotch Corner, also owned by the Cairn
Group, is a 96-room hotel and is set to open in Summer 2011.
The 142-room Holiday Inn Ekaterinburg in Russia has been
converted from a former office building. It is due to open towards
the end of 2012. The hotel, owned by an associate company of the
Ural Bank of Ekaterinburg, will be managed by IHG.
