In 2010, more passengers than ever before
travelled on one of Europe's largest low cost airlines, Ryanair.
During the year, traffic grew by 10% from 65m to
over 72m passengers. A new monthly record for the airline of over
7.7m passengers was set in August 2010, while the busiest day of
travel was 30 July 2010 when over 255,000 flew on over 1,400
Ryanair flights. The busiest booking day was 26 April, when over
310,000 bookings were made on ryanair.com.
To celebrate another record year, Ryanair has
released 1m €6 seats for travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and
Thursdays in February, which are available for booking on
ryanair.com until midnight Thursday (6 Jan 2011). Terms and
conditions apply.
Ryanair’s Daniel de Carvalho said, “Ryanair’s
guaranteed lowest fares combined with our industry leading on-time
performance and fewest lost bags continue to attract more
passengers every year. We are delighted that 2010 was a year of
records for Ryanair and to celebrate we released today 1m €6 seats
for travel in February.”
