Organizers of next week's World Travel Market
(WTM), one of the largest travel trade shows in the world, has
informed delegates that the Docklands Light Railway in London will
be closed between Beckton/Woolwich and Stratford International on
Saturday, 5 November until 1pm on Sunday, 6 November.
The closure
will affect anyone travelling to ExCeL London via Canning Town
Underground/DLR station on Saturday, 5 November until 14:30 on Sunday 6
November.
Transport for London will re-open the line from
13:00 on
Sunday, 6 November and a full service is expected to be up and running by
approximately 14:30.
Transport for London / DLR has put on a dedicated comprehensive bus shuttle
service between Canning Town and the ExCeL London venue, where WTM
is located, for the period the DLR is closed. The bus
shuttle service will operate every five minutes and will be stopping at both entrances to the venue to ensure disruption is
kept to a minimum.
DLR services
for WTM ( 7 November - 10 November) will be greatly
improved with a 50% capacity increase across the service compared
to last year, with trains running every two and a half minutes.
Other improvements include a new platform at Canning Town
Station to help ease congestion and new escalators at Custom House Station improving entry and exit from ExCeL London.
