International visitor arrivals to Singapore
registered 15.4% year-on-year growth (Singapore Visitor
Arrivals in February 2010) to reach 990,000 in February
2011. This is the highest ever recorded visitor arrivals for the
month of February.
Visitor days were estimated at 3.7 million
days, a year-on-year growth of 12.7%.
Indonesia (177,000), P.R. China (150,000),
Malaysia (82,000), Japan (58,000), and Australia (58,000) were
Singapore's top five visitor-generating markets in February 2011.
These markets accounted for 53% of total arrivals for the month.
In February 2011, Hong Kong SAR (+53%),
Philippines, (+48%) and Japan (+43%) registered the highest growth
out of the top 15 markets.
Gazetted hotel room revenue was estimated at
S$159 million, representing an increase of 19.1% compared to a
year ago.
Average Occupancy Rate posted a 3.1
percentage point increase over February 2010 to reach 83% in
February 2011.
ARR increased by 18.3% over
February 2010 to reach Sin$220 in February 2011 while RevPAR increased
by 14.2% to reach Sin $183 in February 2011.
