Finnair opens direct flights to Singapore today,
30 May 2011.
The flights are being operated using Finnair's
state-of-the-art Airbus A340 aircraft.
"Finnair's Asian strategy has worked extremely
well," said Finnair CEO Mika Vehvilinen. "The Singapore route
will strongly support our core strategy as well as serving our
main target group of customers travelling between Asia and Europe
on business."
Singapore is Finnairs tenth scheduled
destination in Asia.
The new route offers excellent onward
connections from both Helsinki and Singapore. For Asian customers
it opens up connections to the 50-strong European destination
network served by Finnair.
Customers traveling onwards through Singapore
can connect with flights offered as part of Finnair's partner
network to Australia and Singapore's neighbours, Malaysia and
Indonesia, for example, with the potential for fabulous holiday
trips to these and other countries.
