Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Videos Tuesday, 2 August 2011

The 26-hectare Outrigger Laguna Phuket Resort and Villas has opened 19 new self contained suites.

The new inventory is in a standalone, mountain-view area of the property with its own 25-metre pool, pool bar, gym, and all-day restaurant, called Panache.

The first-floor one-bedroom suites measure 90 square metres, the two-bedroom duplex suites 150 square metres and the rooftop three-bedroom penthouse apartments, with their own roof-top pool, total 550 square metres.

Each suite features a separate living room, open plan fully-equipped kitchens and private balconies. The three-bedroom penthouse has en-suite bathroom for each guest room while the rooftop pool and barbecue deck offers spectacular views of the Phuket countryside and mountains.

"We've designed the new suites to satisfy couples, families and groups of between two and nine people who value convenience, peace and five-star service," said Darren Shaw, General Manager of the property. "But just say the word and our guests can enjoy free and immediate five-minute transfers to white sand Layan beach or to all the food, beverage, spa and golf services of adjacent Laguna Phuket destination resort."

Guests staying at Outrigger's new suite complex have on their doorstep a full range of buffet, a la carte, and poolside al fresco dining at Outrigger's new Panache restaurant. Chef Robert Czeschka, an Austrian with six years' executive chef experience in Thailand, China, Vietnam and Malaysia has prepared menu options to satisfy a variety of Asian and Western dining needs – from Hokkien noodles, to Australian steaks, Mediterranean salads and Thai spice.

Within the suite complex guests can work out at the fully equipped pool-view gym.

The new suites complement the property's existing inventory of 68 two, three and four-bedroom villas.
