IHG has expanded its growing portfolio of
Holiday Inn Express hotels in Asia with the signing of a new hotel
in Bali.
The new Holiday Inn Express will be located
Legian along Jalan Imam Bonjol. The hotel is only a few minutes
walk away from Istana Kuta Galleria, Bali Bakery and other food
and beverage establishments and activities.
The proposed 160-room
Holiday Inn Express Bali Legian is slated to start construction
mid-2011, and projected to open by early 2013.
In addition to having a gym,
swimming pool and self-service laundry, the Holiday Inn Express
Bali Legian will also
feature the Great Room, a relaxing social lounge space for guests
to connect, meet, eat and relax.
“The key to Holiday Inn Express’ rapid
expansion is the value it provides for the mid-market, select
service segment. Focused on providing only what guests need, and
not charging for what they don’t, it is truly the smarter choice
for today’s independent travellers,” Jan Smits, Chief Executive of
IHG Asia Australasia. “We have
confidence that Holiday Inn Express’ strong value proposition will
resonate well with the market. Bali is Indonesia’s most popular
holiday destination and is a great location for us to introduce
the brand to the country. We continue to look for the right
opportunities to expand Holiday Inn Express’ presence in other key
Indonesian cities.”
Globally, there are
currently 2,075 Holiday Inn Express hotels located across major
cities. In Asia Pacific, the brand is expanding rapidly from its
current 30 hotels and will open new hotels in Thailand, Singapore
and India within the next few years.
