Adam Turner has been appointed director of
sales and marketing at The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai.
Prior to moving to Dubai, Turner served for
three years as director of travel industry sales for the London
Global Sales Office of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company where he
re-set the strategy for the luxury group’s penetration within the
UK travel luxury sector.
Turner has extensive experience in customer
relationship primarily through his position with British Airways
as the key accounts sales manager for special markets; he managed
and coached a mid-sized team of account managers, sales support
and a call center sales team. Turner started his career as account
manager for consumer sales in 1999 with British Airways.
“Taking the opportunity to move away from a
global sales role into a more specific property position was in
order to give myself something new and challenging to do,” said
Turner. “My key goals are to ensure that clear market strategies
are in place in readiness for the new rooms coming online in 2012
and then the fully refurbished property reintroduced in 2013, as
Dubai's premier beachfront hotel.”
A British national, Turner enjoys cooking,
rugby, tennis, skiing, spending time with his family and relaxing
in a darkened room listening to recordings of whales’ songs.
From October 2010, The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai
commenced an exciting expansion project that will add new rooms,
suites, restaurant concepts and pools over a projected 24-month
period. The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai will continue to welcome guests
throughout the entire expansion development, and the only areas
that will be closed are Plaza Ballroom, the Spa pool and part of
the landscaped gardens.
