Indonesia's Lion Air has taken delivery of its
first Next-Generation Boeing 737-900ER with the new
Boeing Sky Interior.
Lion Air was the launch customer for the
Boeing Next-Generation 737-900ER in 2005. Today's delivery is the
airline's 43rd 737-900ER. In all, the airline has ordered 178
Next-Generation 737s.
Designed to dramatically improve the flying
experience for passengers, the Boeing Sky Interior features a
number of enhancements.
The sculpted sidewalls of the interior provide
passengers with a feeling of spaciousness while new window reveals
make the windows seem larger.
LED lighting can be programmed to provide soft
blue sky overhead or to create different effects during the flight
and large stowage bins pivot down and out.
Intuitive placement of switches and improved
sound quality are further features that Boeing says enhances the
passenger experience.
