The Indigo Pearl resort in Phuket has appointed
veteran British-American hotelier Mr. Kelly Lewis as its new
General Manager.
Mr. Lewis joins Indigo Pearl from Makena Beach
Golf Resort in Maui, Hawaii where he was General Manager.
Mr. Lewis began his hospitality career over 20
years ago in Hawaii, first rising to acting F&B Director of Hyatt
Regency Maui. He was soon after appointed Director of Food &
Beverage / Executive Assistant Manager at Princess Hotel in
Hamilton, Bermuda and in 1998 made his first venture to Asia with
the Pacific Islands Club Resort, Saipan as Director of Food &
Beverage.
Following Asia he held the role of
Resident Manager of the Half Moon Golf, Tennis and Beach
Club in Montego Bay, Jamaica; and later returned to Asia as Hotel
Manager for Shangri-La’s Golden Sands Resort, Batu Feringgi Beach,
Penang, Malaysia.
Lewis’ first appointment as
General Manager was in 2004, at Daufuskie Island Resort and
Breathe Spa, off the coast of South Carolina.
Over
the past seven years he has managed Carefree Resort & Villas in
Arizona; Hotel Victor in South Beach, Miami; and Grove Isle Hotel
& Spa in Florida.
No stranger to renovation projects, he will
be overseeing the multi-million dollar aesthetic transformation in
partnership with Bensley Design Studios at Indigo Pearl to make
the property an ‘all suite and villa’ resort. The Pool & Spa
Villas ranging from 550 to 2,500 square metres are set to open by
fall 2011.
