Mr Pierre Barthes has been appointed as General
Manager of the Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai with effect from
1 January 2012.
A French national, Mr Barthes has more than 20 years
experience in the hospitality industry. He joins the groups
eagerly anticipated hotel in Shanghai from Mandarin Oriental,
Kuala Lumpur, where he has held the position of General Manager
for the past four years.
Succeeding Mr Barthes as General Manager of
Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur is Frank Stocek.
Mr Stocek joined
Mandarin Oriental in 1983 as a management trainee. He swiftly
worked his way towards a number of senior management positions
within the groups Asian portfolio, before being appointed as
General Manager of Elbow Beach, Bermuda, a post he has held since
2001.
It has not yet been unveiled who will replace Mr Stocek
in Bermuda.
