Malaysia Airlines has appointed Encik Ahmad
Jauhari Yahya as Managing Director, effective 19 September 2011.
Encik Mohammed Rashdan remains as the Executive Director reporting
to the Managing Director.
Ahmad Jauhari, aged 56, is
currently a Non-Independent, Non-Executive Director of Malaysia
Airport Holdings Berhad. He takes over from Tengku Dato Sri Azmil
Zahruddin who left last August.
Prior to his appointment in
MAS, Encik Ahmad Jauhari was Managing Director/CEO of Premium
Renewable Energy (M) Sdn Bhd. He has had a vast and diverse
working experience in various industries which includes oil & gas,
publication, engineering, power and energy.
He started his
career with ESSO Malaysia Berhad before joining The New Straits
Times Press (M) Berhad, where he rose to the rank of Senior Group
General Manager, Production and Circulation in 1990.
In
1992, he went to become Deputy Managing Director and was
subsequently made Managing Director of Time Engineering Berhad in the same year.
He then served as the Managing Director of
Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad and Malakoff Berhad.
Ahmad Jauhari is also not new in managing organizations on the
international front as he had also served as Director and Chairman of Executive Committee of Central Electricity Generating Company
Limited (Jordan) and a Director of Shuaibah Expansion Project Company Limited (Saudi Arabia).
He is also the former Honorary
President of Penjanabebas (Association of Independent Power
Producers in Malaysia).
Ahmad Jauhari holds a Bachelor of
Science (Hons) Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
from University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom.
