Tiger Airways has reported solid passenger
volumes and load factors for May 2011.
From June 2010 to May 2011, a total of 6.2
million passengers chose to fly with Tiger Airways, an increase of
20% over the 5.2 million passengers in the preceding 12 months.
Average load factor for the 12-month period to
May 2011 was 86%, an increase of 1 percentage point year-on-year.
For the month of May 2011, Tiger Airways carried
596,000 passengers, a 23% increase compared to the same month last
year.
The average load factor across Asia and
Australia for the month was 83%, an increase of 1 percentage point
compared to May 2010.
Tony Davis, President and Group CEO of Tiger
Airways Holdings said, “We are pleased to report robust growth in
passenger numbers in May 2011. Recording passenger growth of 23%
and concurrently registering an increase in the load factor
reflects the continued resilience in demand for our low cost low
fare product from Singapore and in Australia.”
