Meanwhile, the airline has said that its flight
crews will resume staying overnight in Tokyo (except for CX520
which will be a turnaround flight) following confirmation from six
United Nations agencies that there are no health or safety hazards
associated with transportation. Almost all the major carriers have
now returned to crew layovers in Tokyo.
“To prepare for the resumption of layovers, our
operations departments have ensured that crew hotels in Tokyo are
well prepared and that such things as water and food supplies are
safe and plentiful for crew,” said a Cathay Pacific spokesperson.
“As always, our top priority is the safety and well-being of our
passengers and crew, and we continue to monitor the situation in
Japan closely and take advice from the relevant authorities.”
