All Nippon Airways has finalized a 10-year part
repair and material management agreement with Pratt & Whitney.
The deal should lead to reduced costs of
approximately over 2 billion yen a year for the airline. It forms
part of the “Working Together” program which ANA and Pratt &
Whitney established in 2004 to enhance engine reliability and
economic efficiency.
Under the agreement, Pratt & Whitney Global
Service Partners will service the PW4000 engines on ANA’s
30-strong fleet of Boeing 777s.
“ANA and Pratt & Whitney
have built a very long and strong relationship together. Since the
PW4000 engine entered into service at ANA in 1995 we have been
very happy with Pratt & Whitney’s continuous efforts to meet ANA’s
needs for this engine,” said Mr. Hiroyuki Ito, ANA Board of
Directors member and ANA Engineering Maintenance executive vice
president. “It is a fundamental principle within ANA’s Corporate
Policy to prioritize safety and the maintenance of engine
components to the highest standards is part of this commitment.
This agreement is consistent with ANA’s commitment to safety and
we are proud to enter into this program with Pratt & Whitney.”
Todd Kallman, Pratt & Whitney Commercial Engines
& Global Services president, added, “Using our OEMRO approach, we will
provide additional knowledge and experience as the PW4000
manufacturer, as well as maintenance, repair, and material
logistics and support to ANA through our Pratt & Whitney Materials
International and Global Service Partners networks.”
ANA
carries almost 50 million passengers every year to 49
destinations in Japan and 27 cities throughout Asia, Europe and
the US on its fleet of 228 aircraft.
