India’s Kingfisher Airlines has launched flights
between New Delhi and Hong Kong. This is the second international
destination to be served by Kingfisher Airlines out of New Delhi,
flights on this route will operate six times a week.
Kingfisher Airlines’ flight IT 031 will take-off
from New Delhi at 23:45 and arrive at Hong Kong at 07:40
local time. From Hong Kong, flight IT 032 will leave at 18:15
and arrive the same day at 21:45 in New Delhi, local time. The

Tuesday’s) and daily from Hong Kong-New Delhi (except

Commenting on the launch of this new
international route, Dr. Vijay Mallya, Chairman and CEO,
Kingfisher Airlines Limited said, “We have set new standards in international travel with
the unique Kingfisher experience that has earned us a 5 Star
rating from Skytrax. Given the strong linkages between India and
Hong Kong, we believe that there is untapped potential and these
new routes promise to serve the unmet needs of discerning
corporate and leisure flyers. Within a very short time since
launch, Kingfisher Airlines emerged as the market leader on the
Mumbai – Hong Kong route and we expect to consolidate our
leadership position further by being the preferred airline on the
New Delhi – Hong Kong route too, very soon.”
The
flights on the New Delhi-Hong Kong route will be operated using a
brand new Airbus A330-200, configured in two classes - Kingfisher
First and Kingfisher Class.
“There is good news for Kingfisher
Airlines’ guests travelling to Macau via Hong Kong from New Delhi
and Mumbai. Kingfisher Airlines has been accorded approval to
commence through tagging of baggage for guests travelling from
Mumbai and Delhi and onward from Hong Kong on Turbo Jet ferries to
Macau. Similarly Turbo Jet will tag Kingfisher Airlines guests’
baggage from Macau to Mumbai and Delhi. The through tagging of
baggage to and from Macau will provide guests a convenient
check-in experience. Guests whose bags have been through checked
in will now just need to show the tags at the Ferry check-in
counter at Hong Kong and the Turbo Jet staff will reconcile and
load such bags directly onto the ferry,” said Mr. Manoj Chacko,
Executive Vice President-Commercial, Kingfisher Airlines Limited.
Kingfisher Airlines will also be launching
flights to three more international destinations out of New Delhi
and three more international destinations out of Mumbai over the
coming weeks:
• New
Delhi–Bangkok from 17 April 2010 • New Delhi–Dubai and
New Delhi–Kathmandu from 24 April 2010 • Mumbai-Bangkok
from 17 April 2010 • Mumbai–Dubai and Mumbai–Kathmandu
