The UK-based travel trade association, The Guild
of Travel and Tourism, is expanding globally with the launch of
its first international chapter for Asia in Hong Kong.
Established in Britain in 1994, The Guild
supports professionals and corporations working in travel, tourism
and hospitality. It has since evolved from a traditional trade
association into a proactive business organisation which, as well
as providing networking opportunities for the travel and tourism
industry, also provides a range of professional business services
for its members.
Services include networking and promotional
events, workshops and business open days, market intelligence and
representation at international trade exhibitions and conferences.
The Guild welcomes potential members from all
sectors of the travel, tourism and related industries, including
suppliers, so key players can interchange ideas and develop mutual
business opportunities on a local, regional and global basis.
The Guild provides members with access to a wide
range of additional services, such as:
- Research into potential markets, legal
requirements and business culture - Review and due diligence of
potential agents and distributors - Product launch and business
establishment services as well as on-going - business
management - Competitor analysis and development of unique
selling points - Recruitment and talent acquisition -
Supporting the establishment of appropriate business partnerships
and government relationships
Andrew Seaton, Consul-General, British
Consulate-General Hong Kong, said, “I warmly congratulate The
Guild of Travel and Tourism on the establishment of their first
international chapter here in Hong Kong. Their services and
expertise now add still further to the strength and diversity of
business links between the UK and Hong Kong, and through Hong Kong
into the wider Asia Pacific region. UK Trade and Investment has
been delighted to work with The Guild as a partner to help them
take this step forward. We look forward to continuing to work
closely with The Guild and its members and to provide a range of
services to help them grow their businesses still further.”
